Dean Cain became extremely famous in the mid-1990s because of his portrayal of Superman/Clark Kent in the TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. He might be the most well known superman actor due to the fact that the TV show is about 5 years long, from 1993 to 1997. Cain was born as Dean George Tanaka, the son of actress Sharon Sarah Thomas and U.S. Army serviceman Roger Tanaka. However, his father left the family before he was born, and his mother later married film director Christopher Cain, who adopted Dean and gave Dean a last name as Cain.

After the TV show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was ended, Dean Cain decided not to participate other long TV series so he can have more time with his family, especially his son. He is still quite active even after 2000, in 2008, for instance, the movie Ace of Hearts still has Dean involved.
